Tuesday’s Favorite Thing-Moccasins

Today, election day, we salute the American spirit- one of freedom, possibility and opportunity.  Is there anything more purely American than the moccasin?  The moccasin hearkens back to a time when the American spirit was alive in a purely organic sense, before immigration changed the culture and landscape.  Think of the ingenuity that led creative Native Americans to conceive of shaping leather into a soft shoe.  Form may follow function, but artistic influence was alive and well.  Beads and bones made for decoration.  Plants made dyes.

Today, Manimal Moccasins follows that tradition, lending its own brand of creative construction to the classic design.  These booties call us to embrace the style and sensibility of the American Southwest and its rich Native American heritage. Perhaps equally as significant, the moccasin is a uniter.  After all, whether you are a tea-party Republican or a yellow-dog Democrat, you must agree that these shoes are absolutely adorable.

On a day that is all about speaking out, voicing your opinion, and giving voice to the democratic process, we urge you to let yourself be heard.  You have the power to influence the future of fashion, and by shopping responsibly, you vote YES! for ethics.  So, do not hesitate!  Speak up for justice and beauty.  Say YEA to the American spirit, and visit Manimal Moccasins to see why they are Tuesday’s favorite.
